About Me
I am Thanh Ho, but I prefer to go by Sandra. In 2012, at the age of 14, I left Vietnam to pursue higher education in the United States. Language posed a significant challenge for me during my teenage years. Expressing my thoughts and feelings, and connecting with others through language, was a struggle. However, I discovered that art provided me with a means of self-expression—a medium in which I could immerse myself and find solace.
My journey into the world of graphic design ignited a profound fascination within me from the very start. Through my experiences, I became captivated by the intricacies and intentionality of the design process. One of my earliest typography professors imparted a crucial lesson: the essence of design lies in the relationship between content and form.Elements such as color, size, weight, and proximity intricately contribute to constructing hierarchies, maintaining balance, enhancing contrast, and establishing rhythm within a composition. Consequently, I approach every element I place in a design with intentionality and functionality, shunning mere ornamentation. This profound understanding reinforces my conviction that simplicity can wield tremendous impact in design. As a result, my style is characterized by its simplicity, cleanliness, and timeless appeal.
As I matured, the responsibilities of adulthood weighed on me, and my thoughts and emotions grew more complex. However, creating art has consistently provided a path to self-discovery. It invokes a yearning for the simplicity and joy of childhood, infusing my style with a sense of childlike wonder while still maintaining professionalism and timelessness. Thus, my creations embody a harmonious blend of sophistication and youthful exuberance.
My aspiration is for my works to inspire individuals to forge authentic connections with themselves and others, igniting feelings of joy, curiosity, and compassion for the diverse cultures and people who surround us.
